Patents are a powerful economic tool and an essential part of business — especially for startups moving fast with original technologies. At PROMEDIUS we welcomed Sungsoo Lim as our new IP Manager to strengthen this line of defense.

Q. As a patent attorney now serving as an IP Manager in a startup, what strategies have you implemented?

A. My priority is to carefully review proposals from patent law firms and ensure our technologies are properly protected and turned into valuable assets. I am currently reviewing dozens of patents and updating internal processes, while also initiating copyright registration for software programs and AI models developed by our research team.

In addition, I’m preparing internal sessions to raise awareness of intellectual property. I want to help PROMEDIUS be ready for the growing IP challenges that come with growth, and ensure our innovations are strongly protected."*
