This week’s relay interview features Junhyeok Park from the AI Research Team. Before becoming an AI researcher, Junhyeok worked as an instructor at a college entrance academy. We looked back on his past three years, during which he successfully made a career transition at Promedius.

Q. Changing your career from a teacher to a researcher must have been quite a challenge. How have you been lately?

A: I’m quite satisfied with my work. Pursuing a career as an AI researcher without prior experience was a big attempt for me. I was able to transition successfully thanks to the awards I had earned, including the grand prize at NPHD 2021. Among many medical AI companies, I chose Promedius because the interview experience felt the most comfortable. I believe the most important factor in choosing a workplace is the people. I decided to join after naturally conversing with all the interviewers, including the CEO. Many people tend to change jobs in their second or third year, but I haven’t felt that urge thanks to the strong chemistry within our team. We have frequent research discussions and give each other constructive advice, creating a positive influence. Compared to when I joined, my responsibilities have grown, and the company has also expanded. Recently, I’ve been helping with the global launch of our AI products, and I have high expectations for the company’s future. 😊

Junhyeok described PROMEDIUS as being in a "period of rapid change," transforming from a startup with a club-like atmosphere into a more structured company. As Promedius takes on new challenges in the medical AI market, it’s clear that the spirit of challenge runs deep among our team members.
