PROMEDIUS, an AI company focused on aging and metabolic diseases, successfully co-hosted an invited lecture with the Korean Society for Bone and Mineral Research (KSBMR) during its 37th Annual Autumn Scientific Meeting held on November 8 at the Kwanggaeto Hall Convention Center, Sejong University.

Prof. Jean-Yves Reginster — a world-renowned leader in musculoskeletal research and a Scientific Advisory Board member of PROMEDIUS since 2024 — delivered the keynote lecture.

The lecture, titled “Sarcopenia: From Definition to Treatment,” was presented across two sessions. Prof. Reginster highlighted that “although age and BMI are taken into account in diagnosing sarcopenia, the core evaluation relies on objective indicators such as muscle mass and muscle strength.” He added, “AI technologies that accurately measure muscle mass and analyze tissue composition will drive innovation from diagnosis to treatment in sarcopenia.”

During the event, PROMEDIUS’ Osteo Signal (AI software for osteoporosis screening using chest X-ray) and Myo Signal (AI software for abdominal CT-based muscle and fat analysis) were introduced as promising tools for early prediction of musculoskeletal degenerative diseases and sarcopenia risk assessment. Both solutions received strong interest from participants.

AI is rapidly emerging as a key tool for the early prevention of aging-related and metabolic diseases. PROMEDIUS will continue collaborating with KSBMR to build an AI-driven preventive healthcare ecosystem.

In the remainder of 2025, PROMEDIUS plans to advance its marketing and research collaborations through participation in the Korean Society of Medical Informatics, RSNA 2025, and the IOF Regional Tokyo Conference 2025.
