Since May, PROMEDIUS has been hosting lunchtime “Team Sessions” — a knowledge-sharing series designed to help our members grow together. In June, the AI Research Team took the spotlight with an engaging lecture on deep learning.

The first session, led by Team Leader Minji Kim, introduced the basics of deep learning, covering the famous Turing Test ("Can machines think?"), multi-layer perceptrons and the XOR problem, an overview of CNNs for medical AI, and how Promedius currently structures and trains its AI models.

The second session, led by AI researcher Junhyeok, focused on performance metrics in deep learning. From sensitivity and specificity to positive/negative predictive values, thresholding, and AUC, the session broke down these concepts in a way that was easy to understand, even for those unfamiliar with AI.

Even while enjoying sandwiches, team members eagerly asked questions and engaged in discussion — a testament to Promedius’s passion for learning.
